Safe Environments & Child Protection

The Catholic Diocese of Charleston and Saint John Catholic Church are committed to keeping all children entrusted to our care safe and have adopted a diocese-wide policy to ensure that we live up to that commitment. This policy implements the “Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People” developed by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (copies are available in the magazine rack at the back of the church.) As part of that policy all employees and volunteers are expected to follow a code of conduct.

We are all asked to be vigilant and to report any suspicious behavior or suspected abuse immediately.

The “Code of Conduct”, how to report suspected abuse and other valuable information can be found on the Diocesan website: Please Report

Office of Child & Youth Protection

There is also information in the magazine rack at the back of the church.
